Prayer is Power

Hey SOYMILK,

We had a great time on Friday and Saturday during our first SOYMILK sleepover here in Singapore. So here's the update.

Some of us met up at Bedok church, on Friday, around 6pm. We were supposed to be fellowshipping, like playing games or talking... But we fellowshipped in another way. The chairs from Geylang church were still in Bedok. So we helped to move the chairs to the porch so that it'd be easier for the movers. It was tiring, but somewhat fulfilling.

After that we headed for dinner. After dinner, the movers came and took the chairs back to Geylang.

We had a devotional after the movers left. We had a good time singing praises to the Lord. We learned two songs, "Deep Calls to Deep" and "Hear O Israel". Then we shared about how God impacted our lives during the week. It was encouraging to hear the sharings. We did something new that day. We all took out our bibles. And randomly flipped to a page. We then reflected on the passage we had flipped to. We shared the verses that struck us most. It is really amazing what God can say to you through the scriptures.

There was a message that Aaron had taken ill, and was brought to the hospital. So after the devotional, we prayed for Aaron. There is indeed power in prayer.

After we prayed, some of us washed up. Then some of us watched "the Passion of Christ". Some played Skipbo. We were supposed to sleep at 12am. But in the end, we only slept at 3 plus.

We woke up at 8am on Saturday morning. Then we had our own QT. It is surprising that most didn't sleep. We had breakfast after QT.

Then it was time for the prayer walk. We walked from the church to Bedok reservoir. And the route continued around half of the reservoir. We had pitstops where a soymilkian would share. We prayed for several things. It was a recharging experience.

We fellowshipped after the prayer walk. Then we went out for lunch. When we got back from lunch we had another devotional.

We sang songs. And then we heard what Rob Bell had to say in "Dust".

After devotional, some of us headed to the airport to welcome Irvin back.
